Gran Giah Supa Spinta guitar booster project part I
Giah asked me to build him a guitar booster, so I went ahead and prototyped a non-stompbox version of the fat boostered. This Jack Orman design is an expansion of the AMZ Mini booster with a quite effect tone control. It is even easier to build than the Fuzz Face, because the jfet transistors bias themselves in some way I don't quite yet understand.
As the circuit is basically the same as the fat boostered, I'm not going to expand much and just shoot out the project pics of building the pcb. A next report will deal with the etching of the enclosure, though I can release a basic predesign further down.
Because of the 4 controls and stompbox config, I used the 1590BB Hammond enclosure horizontally.
Etched PCB.
Cleaned PCB
Component mounting. Remember I had to use these massive 400v 1uF caps in the proto? Now I stashed 16V, and the difference is clear

Soon more updates on the GGSS, especially on the enclosure etching
